We bring to you analysis of good practices with recommendations and challenges for organisation of crowdfunding campaigns for human rights protection. In making the analysis we thank social company BRODOTO which has, with its longtime experience and knowledge, helped us with quality preparation of this analysis.
We believe that analysis will be useful to all who are thinking about starting their own crowdfunding campaign, specially if they have some unanswered questions.
The purpose of this analysis is to demonstrate the impact and contribution of the crowdfunding campaign in the protection and promotion of human rights, with emphasis on those that respond to a problem of collapsing and / or human rights violations, perceived through all four generations of human rights (civil and political rights, economic, social and cultural, group / global rights, rights to good governance). The emphasis was on those campaigns that were visible in the public space and through which the citizens recognized the problem and shared their efforts to solve the problem. Given the amount of work and energy needed for successful campaign implementation, this document will present good practices, "tricks" and potential bottlenecks in implementation, so that those who are thinking about starting their own campaign or are already in the planning stage could be better prepared.
The analysis is presented by the SOLIDARNA- foundation for human rights and solidarity and the social company BRODOTO, specialized in campaigns, design and media that cooperates exclusively with socially responsible organizations and companies based on their current experience of campaign implementation and joint organization of crowdfunding workshops in Osijek, Rijeka, Split and in February, 2017 and based on the experience of the Crowdfunding academy, an informal crowdfunding education program sponsored by Brodoto and the Green energy cooperative.
